Divemaster Course
Do you have a deep and abiding passion for diving? Or, do you merely love it with all of your heart? If so, you should consider doing what you love for a living: become a PADI Divemaster and pursue a career in scuba diving.
Working closely with an Florida Keys Dive Center PADI Instructor, you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.
PADI Divemaster Prerequisites:
- 18 years or older
- Current physical attesting to your diving fitness signed by a physician
- Be a certified PADI Advanced Open Water and PADI Rescue diver or hold qualifying certs from another organization
- Current EFR Primary and Secondary Care certification within the past 2 years
- Proof of at least 40 logged dives to start the program (60 dives by course completion)
Divemaster Certification Learning Options
Online PADI Divemaster eLearning Course: $640
After completing the online portion of the PADI Rescue Diver Course ($205 non-refundable) you'll visit us at Florida Keys Dive Center to complete your training.
PADI's eLearning system presents you with interactive presentations that include videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace. Other costs – There is a separate application fee due to PADI that needs to be submitted with the Divemaster application once the course is successfully completed. Upon completing the online course, contact Florida Keys Dive Center to complete the practical segments of the course and to discuss total course costs, equipment, materials and logistical requirements.

Full Divemaster Program with Florida Keys Dive Center: $845
During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve there scuba. You put this knowledge into action through a structured internship or series of practical training exercises. As you progress through your Divemaster course, you’ll expand your diving knowledge, hone you skills and increase your confidence. Then, as a PADI Divemaster, you’ll use these attributes to lead, mentor and motivate other divers and experience the joy of seeing them transformed by the majesty of the aquatic realm.
